UPDATE - 02/07/2012:
To all of our customers and friends:
As most of you are aware it has been a very interesting last few months here at Highland Hunting. For those who have been out since the release of the letter back in Dec. you aware of the situation going on across the nation with the shortage of birds. We appreciate all of your questions and concerns that you have confronted us with, and truly appreciate all of the support that we have had from everyone.
We are writing this to inform everyone of some great news! Through many phones calls and hours behind the computer we have come up with some birds from a proven source. We feel with the number that is available to us, and the amount that we have left on the farm, we will no longer be in fear of an early shut down or have to cut back on outings. With the time remaining in the season and the amount of birds on hand we will be able to open up more hunting spots per day. Currently we are running about 60% of our fields, however with the natural slow down of the season most of you have not even noticed a difference or the slow down. With the birds coming up we will be able to run about 90% of our fields, until we get closer to March. Once we hit March 1, we will have a good idea where we stand for the rest of the season and at that point will be able to decide if we can run 100%.
Who would have guessed that we would hit 50s in January and still into February we are seeing mid 30s. Its a crazy year for weather and this is one season that we will all remember.
As always, we appreciate all of your support and look forward to seeing everyone out again soon.
As the time flies the season will be here and gone, and before we know it we will be right into the Sporting clays season. We will be hosting the 2012 Sporting Clays Championship so please watch the web site for more information, upcoming events and details.
Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Ryan Giannini
